Heritage Co-creation Workshop at the Posada Santa María la Real

We are pleased to report on the recent co-creation workshop hosted at Aguilar de Campoo headquarters as part of the HERIT4AGES project. Organized by Fundación Santa María la Real del Patrimonio Histórico, the workshop brought together experts from various fields to develop efficient and sustainable energy solutions for heritage spaces, ensuring their long-term conservation and management. Alberto Miguéns Blanco from CETIM, significantly enhanced the technical depth of our discussions, which was highly valued by architects and installers alike.

The workshop focused on identifying sustainable and local materials, such as natural clays and inorganic construction waste, to improve energy efficiency at the Posada de Santa María la Real. Key solutions proposed included thermal floors made from industrial waste, pressed clay wall panels for better insulation, and innovative ceilings constructed from compressed straw fiber.

Next steps will include determining the implementation strategy and defining timeline for these measures. This project reflects our commitment to preserving cultural heritage while adapting to modern environmental, economic, and social challenges.

Stay tuned for more heritage conservation solutions as we continue on our project journey!
